Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, GA, is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager ("Assistant F&B Manager") to join its staff. This full-time salaried, exempt role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.
The Assistant F&B Manager supervises Food and Beverage (F&B) culinary daily operations and monitors compliance with all Club F&B policies, standards, and procedures. This position assists in the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms. The position also manages staffing levels to make certain that Member service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met. Along with the F&B Manager, the Assistant F&B Manager handles day-to-day operations, monitors quality and standards, and strives to meet the expectations of the Members and guests on a daily basis. The position is responsible to maintain the operating budget and verify that standards and legal obligations are followed.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED with at least three (3) years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area;
- Or, an Associate's (two-year) degree in Food Service Management, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major from an accredited university with at least one (1) year of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
- Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must hold a high school diploma/GED.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
Core Work Activities:
Assist in Managing Day-to-Day Operations
- Order food and beverage (F&B) supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
- Supervise daily F&B/culinary shift operations and monitor compliance with all F&B policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support and supervise an effective monthly self-inspection program.
- Operate all department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions.
- Manage staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Maintain the operating budget, and verify that standards and legal obligations are followed.
- Celebrate and foster decisions that result in successes, as well as learn from failures.
- Communicate areas that need attention to staff, and follow up to confirm understanding.
- Coordinate cleaning program in all F&B areas (e.g., general cleaning), identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements.
- Follow property-specific second effort and recovery plan.
- Maintain availability and approachability with all team members.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the brand-specific service culture.
- All other duties as assigned.
Provide Exceptional Customer Service
- Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
- Manage day-to-day operations, monitor quality and standards, and meet the expectations of the Members on a daily basis.
- Take proactive approaches when dealing with Member concerns.

- Stay readily available/approachable with all Members and guests.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

- Maintain budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports.
